Want to stay warm? Want to extend your scuba diving season? Then dive dry. A drysuit seals you off from the water and keeps you comfortable, even in surprisingly cold water. There is incredible diving in the world’s cooler regions and in some areas, conditions are even better in colder months. Becoming a drysuit diver allows you to expand your boundaries and dive more places, more often.


​In this course you will learn about what drysuit and undergarments styles available. Then you’ll learn how to take care of your dry suit.  You’ll practice:

  • Putting on and taking off your drysuit with minimal assistance.
  • Mastering buoyancy control using your dry suit.
  • Dive safety procedures when using a dry suit.


Hours:  

  • Academic 1-3 hour academic session
  • Practical 1-3 hour pool session


Open water dives: 

  • Two open water dives to demonstrate proficiency of knowledge of drysuit


Qualification for recognition: 

  • Pass exam with a score no less than 75%
  • Show proficiency in skills for safe and competent weapon use in both confined and open water environments


Graduates will have understanding of:

  • Identify different styles of drysuits and undergarments and their uses 
  • Put on and take off a drysuit with minimal assistance
  • Mastering buoyancy control using your drysuit
  • Dive safety procedures when using a drysuit
  • Perform routine maintenance on a drysuit

PREREQUISITES

 

10 yrs of age or older, Basic (Junior) Open Water Certification
